# Trezor.io/Start -- The official wallet ( Gitbook )

To initiate the setup process for your Trezor device, please follow these steps:

1. **Unboxing Your Trezor Device:**
   * Carefully unpack your Trezor hardware wallet.
   * Ensure that all components are present and undamaged.
2. **Connecting Your Trezor Device:**
   * Utilize the provided USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer or mobile device.
3. **Accessing trezor.io/start:**
   * Launch your web browser and navigate to trezor.io/start.
4. **Installing Trezor Bridge (if required):**
   * If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to install the Trezor Bridge software on your computer. This software facilitates communication between your device and the Trezor website.
5. **Setting Up Your Trezor Wallet:**
   * Once on trezor.io/start, you'll be guided through the setup process.
   * Establish a unique PIN code to safeguard your device.
   * Generate and securely store a recovery seed phrase. This phrase is crucial for restoring access to your funds if your device is lost or damaged.
6. **Accessing Your Wallet:**
   * Upon completing the setup, connect your Trezor device to your computer and enter your PIN on trezor.io/start.
   * Your Trezor Wallet will then be accessible, allowing you to manage your cryptocurrency securely.
